FDOT State Road 527 Upcoming Lane Closures

Monday, October 20, 2025 to Friday, November 28, 2025

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will resurface Orange Avenue (State Road (S.R.) 527) from North Magnolia Avenue to Colonial Drive (S.R. 50) in Orlando to extend the life of the roadway. This project excludes a section of Orange Avenue from Legion Place to south of Park Lake Street, that was recently resurfaced. This project also includes updating pedestrian curb ramps to comply with current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

WHAT TO EXPECT

During construction, motorists should expect intermittent nighttime lane closures Sunday through Thursday from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. to accommodate work activities. Cyclists will be detoured onto sidewalks during milling and resurfacing of the bicycle lanes. The posted speed limit within the project limits will be reduced to 35 mph for the duration of construction.

Electronic message boards and other signage will direct traffic through the work zone. The level of work activity and noise may vary during different construction phases. Uneven pavement is a common condition during resurfacing projects, as different layers of asphalt are applied in phases. Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zone.

Please note that the construction schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen conditions. For the most current project details and lane closure information, please visit FDOT’s Central Florida website at cflroads.com.
