Human Relations

The Office of Human Relations is the civil enforcement office for the City of Orlando anti-discrimination ordinances. As a certified agent of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), our mission is to eradicate discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations.

Human Relations Focus Areas

The office provides the following services:

  • Educational Outreach: Conducts education and outreach activities for the public in order to increase citizen awareness of their rights and the remedies available to them under existing discrimination laws.
  • Personalized Workshops: Conducts free training workshops for employers, housing providers and individuals/entities involved in the business of providing access to places of public accommodation. Discussions are general or customized per request; covering topics such as the basics of existing laws, amendments to existing laws, new laws and how they affect you, and best practices.
