World Heart Day

The Orlando Fire Department will host free hands-only CPR training at Lake Eola in recognition of National World Heart Day, a national campaign to bring awareness to heart health. Heart disease remains the leading cause of death for men and women, and people of most race and ethnic groups according to the CDC.

Bystander hands-only CPR can increase a cardiac arrest patient's chance of survival, as every minute someone goes without CPR their chance of survival decreases by 10 percent.

The hand-only CPR training OFD personnel will provide on Monday, September 29 will prepare more residents to make a difference in an emergency cardiac arrest situation.
