Do you want to connect your property to the City of Orlando sewer system? 

The Water Reclamation Division owns and maintains a sewer collection system in many areas of Orlando and parts of unincorporated Orange County.

For system failures, please have your contractor complete a plumbing permit application.

Step 1.Estimate Your Residential Connection Cost

Review our fee schedule for connecting to the City sewer:

  • Residential Sewer Permit Fee – $50
  • Residential Sewer Impact Fee –  $2,537.50
  • Residential Sewer Lateral Construction – $2,950 per lateral (if applicable)

Step 3.Complete your sewer connection application

Once approved, you will receive a Sewer Connection Availability Response. If you wish to move forward with connection, a licensed plumber must complete a Plumbing Permit Application.

Step 4.Submit your Application and Response

After the Plumbing Permit Application is filled out, you must submit the application and the Sewer Connection Availability Response. We will review your application within five business days.

Step 5.Make a payment

We will email you an invoice with payment instructions.

Step 6.Receive your permit

We will email you the permit within two business days of receiving your payment.

Step 7.Submit a Lateral Condition Assessment

After receiving your permit, but before work begins, a lateral condition assessment must be completed. Have a licensed plumber assess the existing lateral and submit the required form.

Step 8.Record your Notice of Commencement

If your project value exceeds $5,000 you will need to file a Notice of Commencement with the Orange County Comptroller's Office prior to starting any work.

Step 9.Have a licensed plumber do the work

A licensed plumber is needed to complete the sewer connection.

Step 10.Schedule your final inspection

The City of Orlando Permitting Division will do a final inspection and close out the permit.
