WHAT:
On Tuesday September 9, 2025, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 3 City Commissioner Robert F. Stuart will join community members for a ceremonial groundbreaking to kick off the highly anticipated renovation of Albert Park.
Planned improvements include a new 20-foot by 30-foot pavilion with a stage, updated landscaping and lighting, new seating, a viewing area and the removal of aging infrastructure. These enhancements are designed to create a more vibrant, accessible and functional space for the community.
To honor the legacy of this beloved greenspace in the heart of College Park, the city will distribute 50 Albert Park oak seedlings at the groundbreaking—grown from acorns collected prior to the removal of the park’s iconic oak tree, which was damaged in 2020 and further impacted by nearby infrastructure. The renovation will also feature the planting of five winged elms, one golden trumpet, eight crape myrtles, and five high-rise oaks, continuing College Park’s legacy of urban tree canopy stewardship. The final 50 seedlings will be distributed at the ribbon-cutting celebration upon completion of the project.
