City to Break Ground on Butterfly Sculpture Garden

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, District 4 City Commissioner Patty Sheehan and the Orlando Land Trust to Break Ground on Butterfly Sculpture Garden at Lake Eola Park

WHAT:  
On Thursday, February 6, 2025, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will join District 4 City Commissioner Patty Sheehan and members of the Orlando Land Trust to break ground on a new Butterfly Sculpture Garden at Lake Eola Park. Construction of the garden was made possible through funds raised by the Orlando Land Trust through the Grandmother’s Legacy of Love campaign. This new garden will enhance the park’s beauty and further contribute to preserving Lake Eola as Orlando’s signature park.  

The mission of Orlando Land Trust is to preserve, protect and improve green space for a healthier Orlando. This expansion of Lake Eola Park furthers the goal of Project DTO to enhance downtown Orlando by adding more green space and provide another unique gathering spot for residents, workers and visitors. For its inaugural project, Orlando Land Trust committed to the expansion Lake Eola Park by helping to acquire the southwest corner of Lake Eola Park and then, convert it into public space.
